Salon Showcase 2011-W21

Not surprisingly, Memorial Day Weekend in Chicago is off to a cold and gloomy start.  But — with promises of a heat wave developing as the weekend goes along — will this mark the start of both the BBQ and A/C season?  As you ponder that, enjoy a classic work by Steve.

On Monday, please take a moment from your day to remember and honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country, that we may continue to live free and enjoy our many blessings.

Salon Showcase 2011-W20

We begin with a shout out to our old pals at Truman College, who have re-christened their showtime as the "Saturday Salon".  Meanwhile, at our humble Salon we savored a rapturous morning of painting and conversation, delightfully engaging both our left- and right-brain hemispheres.  If there is a "next Saturday" after all, we'll be taking off for the holiday (or the Tribulation, as the case may be) but will post another classic work from our member archives.  Enjoy!
Whoops!  Truman's blog remains "Saturday Showtime", whereas "Saturday Morning Salon" is a closing credit in their new weekly blog video.  Hopefully that's the right way to put it.  In any case, check out their works using the link in Our Artists Community.

Salon Showcase 2011-W19

Most of the Salon members are otherwise busy today hosting family visitors...  that's the consequence of living in a wonderful world-class city!  Yet we are advertised as a "weekly" blog, so please enjoy this classic work by Glen.

Salon Showcase 2011-W18

привет to our new viewers from Russia, the latest country to join our international set.  Also this week, our blog went over one thousand American page views.  (!)
We missed Glen and Eileen today, but nice to pick up a brush after laying low the past two weeks.  And hey, if you are reading this on Saturday or Sunday, it's not too late:  CALL YOUR MOTHER!  After all, she gave you life...
