Salon Showcase 2011-W08

Waiting to hear if today we officially set the record for Snowiest February EVER.  That's one glory we could have done without.  Ah, but next week brings two exciting events...  first, Steve's back, and second, we'll be presenting our first (deliberate) Salon SynchronicityTM.  What's that, you ask?  Click back next week—same blog time, same blog spot—and meanwhile, enjoy!

Salon Showcase 2011-W07

What a weatherful week it was; temperatures soared, and carried our spirits aloft on the updraft!  With Julia and Steve absent today, we barely had a quorum for Salon.  Eileen enhanced a painting from her 2009 Ireland trip journal while Glen completed his work from last week.  David modified a monochrome study and also made a wee picture for his friend Mary Sparrowhead, to rally her spirits as she fights off cancer.  Please take a moment to concentrate on that painting and send her some of your positive mental energy... and thanks.  As always, enjoy!

Salon Showcase 2011-W06

Hope yours turns out nice, but fear not...  no Valentine's Day theme this week.  Just painting as usual.  David&Eileen made postcards while Julia/Glen/Steve worked bigger.  Seems that some pictures in our oldest posts have disapparated so we're looking for a Patronus to fix that.  Meanwhile, fresh stuff below.  Enjoy!

Update: the disappearing image phenomenon crops up regularly in blogger, and evidently things reappear eventually.  Until then, you can still enjoy all our work... behold the new slideshow at right. Magic!

Salon Showcase 2011-W05

Despite neighbors claiming "dibs" to parking spaces along Winchester Avenue, Salon came off without a hitch in the aftermath of a noteworthy snowstorm.  We planned some theme-weeks (stay tuned) and — in the spirit of Chinese New Year — we learned about our respective Chinese zodiac signs.  Yet through it all, we managed to paint.  Enjoy!
