Salon Showcase 2011-W25

Salon is taking a by-week today after our 8 hour salon-athon plein air outing last week to the Chicago Scots 25th Anniversary Scottish Festival and Highland Games.  As you can see, the men of Salon deW were "bad in plaid, baby!"  Owing to pesky technical difficulties, we don't have Glen's or Eileen's works available... yet.  So we'll offer sketches by Julia and David, with the promise of more to come from everyone's sketchbook on a future by-week.  Taitneamh!

Salon Showcase 2011-W24

While Steve buzzes around the Caribbean, the remaining Salon trekked into the plein air to take in all things Scottish at the 25th Annual Highland Games.  Remains to be seen what art—if any—the endeavor might yield, but in the meantime here's a second piece by Steve (from last week) for you to enjoy (today).  Take time to remember your Dad (tomorrow) on Fathers Day.  Peace!

Salon Showcase 2011-W23

Last week's sizzle gave way to March-like chilly weather... go figure!  Two other, more pleasant developments: first, Salon was back to full strength as Julia returned after several weeks of diligent study for the LSAT; and second, we recently attracted blog views from Singapore.  Thus we have hit every continent save Antarctica (although one wonders if Blogger can even discern views from there), Australia, and Africa.  Maybe we should send Steve out on a missionary expedition one of these days...

Salon Showcase 2011-W22

Oh it is a sizzler today!  And a busy day too... after Salon we went to a gallery, met notable artist (and nice person) Nicole Hollander, and finally schlepped and schvitzed around the Bowmanville neighborhood annual garage sale.  But we did fit in a little time to paint up this week's offerings.  Enjoy!
