Salon Showcase 2011-W17

Mega-art event Artropolis returned to Chicago this weekend, so Salon went on a field trip to take in the astounding array of art on display.  Who knew Picasso made a rug?  An expensive rug, by the way.

To all our communist, anarchist, and neopagan friends—if any—Happy May Day!

Finally, as with last week, please re-appreciate this wonderfully expressive piece by Eileen.

Salon Showcase 2011-W16

Our best laid plans to have Salon today unraveled rapidly on Good Friday.  Thus, in lieu of the usual showcase, please re-appreciate this classic work by Eileen.  Happy Easter!

Salon Showcase 2011-W15

What a dreary day we woke up to...  and nobody seemed fully awake at that.
But we did manage to scrape together a little cheer in advance of Easter Week.
David & Eileen painted small, Steve & Julia went big.  Meanwhile Glen went downtown to cheer on the Bulls.  Not sure if we'll be holding Salon next week, so just in case, Happy Easter!

Salon Showcase 2011-W14

Maybe a little let-down after last week's foolishness, as everyone struggled to achieve forward momentum this morning.  Yet in the end, many fine efforts with one exception. In lieu, our slacker (aka blogmaster) is able to show an earlier salon work as part of the study series it completed.  Something old, something new, something to enjoy!

Salon Showcase 2011-W13

Just as the next Salon SynchronicityTM was about to kick off, we were overrun by a posse of roving strippers...  who had the cheek to commandeer our studio — and the blog — to bring you today's works.  What foolishness!
