Salon Showcase 2011-W12

This week we added Columbia to our list of international views(!), and Wednesday we caught up with many of our Truman College art friends at Wishbone restaurant during a show featuring talented artist Marge Bolin.  But now it's Saturday and half of us struggled for inspiration... who knows why?  Well, it won't be a problem next week since we'll be having our next Salon SynchronicityTM.  Should be a fun one.  Until then, we have these small offerings for you to enjoy.  Thanks for your patronage!

Salon Showcase 2011-W11

Great early spring day here, made all the better because we were joined by friend and talented painter Elaine Osborne.  Normally her glowing work would take several sessions to complete, but today she created a delightful study—no less, using new and unfamiliar pigments—that you can all... enjoy!

Salon Showcase 2011-W10

Nothing especially special about our first Lenten Salon, just lots of business as usual — though a bit of excitement as the S de W blog picked up international views from three new countries this week AND we went over 800 views.  Could we break through the 1000-view ceiling by May Day?  Only time will tell; meanwhile, enjoy!

Salon Showcase 2011-W09

For all who sat on tenterhooks since the last post, here comes the reveal: Salon SynchronicityTM is a new monthly activity, where (in a nutshell) we all paint the same thing-a-ma-theme.  Thus, we arranged a still life—each contributing one shoe—and rendered it lovingly.  Today, the photo roll begins with a reference snap of the still life arrangement, for your edification and amusement.  Enjoy!
